Who We Are
The BEBR Population Program consists of teams of experts who specialize in demographics, statistical analysis, and GIS modeling. The program conducts research on the accuracy of population estimates and projections, the components of population change, and other related topics. We have specialists who can build comprehensive GIS-based models to estimate and forecast population for geographical regions using property parcel data. Additionally, the Population Program team is capable of developing water demand forecasts, analytics for water conservation, and other related data products and services, all based on project criteria.
RECENT PROJECTS
Over the past decade, the BEBR Population Program has generated $4.7 million from its research and data products, 98% of which was in support of Florida-based projects. The table below includes some of those recent projects.

HAVE A QUESTION OR REQUEST?
Since the 1950’s, BEBR is the forerunner in reliable, unbiased Florida population estimates. In 1972, BEBR founded the Population Program, which was the beginning of a long history of providing Florida’s official city and countywide population estimates.
The Population Program remains dedicated to delivering annual Florida population estimates. These figures play a pivotal role in state revenue-sharing and serves as a cornerstone for planning, budgeting, and analytical endeavors. The Population Program doesn’t stop with population estimates. It also generates estimates for households and average household size, projections organized by demographics including age, sex, and race, for state and county data.
BEBR’s team of Population Program experts is involved with diverse demographic research projects, the results of which are disseminated through books, scholarly journals, and technical reports. The team is also passionate about sharing Florida’s demographic trends through presentations to businesses, governments, and civic groups statewide.
If you require customized population estimates and projections for specific geographic areas (i.e., cities or zip codes), data for target demographics, or a public speaker for related topics, please contact us below for pricing information.
The Population Program team is ready to assist with your demographics needs!
